STEP 1: INSPIRATION
A really great place to start would be Instagram and or Pinterest, find your favourite creators and use them for inspiration on your next project, I also love the journal community on TikTok, great for step by step video's on creating different pages

STEP 2: SUPPLIES
Now this is the addictive part! The best thing about Junk Journalling is you can literally just use  'junk' laying around your house, old Amazon padding, newspaper, buttons, ribbon and old book pages, if it's paper and you like it, use it!
You can also invest in some basic pieces just to get you started, pick your favourite colour palettes or themes such as vintage, florals or even your favourite tv shows.

STEP 3: CREATE
Once you've collected all the basic supplies, it's now time to put it onto paper. This is the daunting part so it's a good idea to have your inspiration board close by in case you get stuck, play around with the layout and placement until you're happy or just whack it all down and see what happens. Junk Journalling is supposed to be enjoyable so trust the process and have fun!

TECHNIQUE TIPS
Paper
- Create different size and shaped pieces to add dimension
- Try tearing your paper edges instead of cutting them for a more natural look
- Have a go at tea staining or buffing the edges for a more vintage look

Layering
- Start with the larger items first, such as your scrap or backing paper
- Then the medium pieces, these could be frames or pictures
- Use the smaller pieces as embeliishments, stamps, florals, tabs and wax seals
.
Washi Tapes
- Great as backgrounds if your tape is wide enough, or layer up the ones you already have
- Use as boarders to frame your focal points
- Create washi tape banners just by cutting them into shape, great if your making tracking templates
